Please read the following questions and answers for the most common queries we receive.

  1. Are you contracted in with medical aids?
Yes, we are contracted in with all medical aids. We handle the claims directly on your behalf if you sign our consent form to disclose your information to your medical aid. Each medical aid provider has unique benefits. It is advisable that you find out from your provider if or/and how many physiotherapy sessions will be covered, prior to attending physiotherapy.

  2. Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?
No, you do not need a referral from any other medical professional. Physiotherapists are first line practitioners and can be contacted directly for their services.

  3. Do you offer home visits?
Yes we do. We see clients in the comfort of their own home on request. We work in the entire Helderberg area but please contact us directly with regards to home visits fees that may or may not apply depending on the circumstance requiring a home visit. We may refer you to our colleague Bianca if we are unable to help you.

  4. How long is a physiotherapy session?
Session range form 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Some follow-up sessions may be 30 minutes.

  5. How can I make an appointment?
    Phone: 021 853 8846 / 021 853 2086
    WhatsApp: 072 586 7471
Email: janesse@newliferehab.co.za (You are welcome to email us for an appointment, but the session will need to be confirmed telephonically to avoid double bookings.)

  6. What are the costs for a physiotherapy session if I do not have Medical aid?
If you prefer to pay directly for your session or tariffs are:
    Initial consultation: R490.00
    Follow-up consultations: R435.00
Additional costs apply for strapping, nebulisation, etc.

  7. How many sessions will I have to attend?
The exact number of sessions needed is dependent on your diagnosis made in the initial consultation. We will discuss the prognosis and expected number of sessions with you. Most common orthopedic problems (neck pain, back pain, headache, knee pain, etc.) may be treated in 3 sessions, but this is only an estimation. Neurological conditions will take longer to treat depending on the diagnosis.

  8. What should I wear for a physiotherapy session?
Please wear comfortable clothes. Please be aware that to treat you effectively the affected area may need to be exposed e.g., wear a strappy top if you have a painful shoulder or bring shorts to treat a knee injury. If you have pain while doing exercises, please bring along the shoes you use for that exercise.

  9. Do I need X-rays prior to seeing a physiotherapist?
No. If you do have current x-rays, please bring that along. With your consent we can request x-rays reports directly from the radiology department.
